Things people ask before booking.
Do I need a permit to remove a tree on my property?+
Most NJ towns don't require a permit for trees on private property, but a few (parts of Montclair, Westfield, Summit) regulate trees over a certain diameter. We check the local ordinance before we cut, and we won't remove anything that isn't allowed.
What if the tree is leaning over my neighbor's house?+
We can usually rig it down without touching the neighboring property, but if access requires going on their lot, we'll knock and ask permission ourselves before the job. Most neighbors are glad someone's handling it carefully.
How much damage will the lawn take?+
Crane work leaves no track marks. For climber-only jobs we use plywood mats under any equipment that has to cross grass. Worst case is a couple of compressed lines that bounce back in two weeks.
Can you grind the stump the same day?+
Yes — if we know in advance that you want the stump out, we schedule the grinder for the same day. Saves you a return visit.
Are you insured if something goes wrong?+
Fully insured: general liability and workers' comp. Certificate of insurance available before the job at your request.
